Dismantling the MBA Framework: From Theoretical Perspectives to a Commitment to Practice
1. Breaking the Theoretical Frame to See the Essence of Life
During my years in Shanghai and Ningbo, I navigated the space between academic theory and the grit of real-world entrepreneurs. While Shanghai offered a global vision, it was the boundless drive of factory owners in Ningbo that led me to a profound realization: I had started as a fearless person of action, but after pursuing my MBA, I had become a “theoreticalist” paralyzed by over-analysis. After a decade of observing the “no-theory” management philosophy of those factory owners, I decided to reclaim my original courage. I dismantled the frameworks my degree had imposed on me, choosing instead to look at the world with honest eyes and respond to genuine societal needs.
2. The First Awakening: What is the True Value of Service?
My first real awareness of the state of the home cleaning industry happened during a trip back to Taiwan. During a dinner with a friend, she suddenly stood up to leave, explaining that she had to rush home to “supervise” her cleaner because the work was often substandard. I was stunned. A series of questions raced through my mind: Is it really that difficult to clean a home thoroughly? Why should someone have to rush home to monitor a professional they’ve already paid for? If a service brings more anxiety than peace of mind, what exactly is its purpose?
3. Seeing Needs Clearly Through a Lens of “Naivety”
Choosing to enter the home cleaning industry was an act of “well-intentioned naivety”. At the time, I didn’t calculate profit margins or evaluate the physical toll of manual labor. Behind that naivety, all I saw were families suffocating under the pressure of high-stress jobs and childcare, desperate for someone to help them restore balance to their lives. Because I didn’t focus on how difficult it would be, I never hesitated.
4. Customer Trust: The Best Proof of “Doing the Right Thing”
People often ask how I’ve stayed in such a demanding industry for seven years. My strength comes from the most authentic feedback: the moment a client walks through the door and gasps in surprise at the cleanliness of their home, or when they feel the relief of knowing their children are in a healthier environment. When they proactively recommend our service to their friends, I know we are doing the right thing. These moments of trust and connection far outweigh any physical fatigue or hardship.
5. The Courage to Step Out for Higher Value Service
Every beginning is difficult, but my “naivety” allowed me to tackle problems as they came, taking one step at a time. If I had analyzed the risks too clearly at the start, I might have stopped before I began. Looking back, that lack of calculation was a gift; it gave me the courage to take the first step and spend the last seven years guarding the order and happiness of countless families. Despite the skepticism I faced, my persistence paid off, leading to steady growth by our third year and maintaining momentum even through the global COVID-19 pandemic.
6. Job Titles No Longer Matter to Me
Every step of the process is a learning experience. I’ve realized that when you focus on one thing, do it exceptionally well, and earn the recognition of others, that is a profound form of success. Looking back, while the courage to start was vital, it is the original intent of restoring balance to every family that has carried me through every doubt. This commitment is the very reason why KJ Clean continues to strive and put these values into practice every single day.
